New Patients
Welcome to our medical group! Thank you for choosing us. If you have questions about any policies as stated on this website, please ask. 

Our Availability
We are open from 9:00am to noon and from 1:30 to 5:00pm Monday through Friday for appointments. When you call us during office hours, you reach our voice menu. We use an answering service during off hours. A physician is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call us before going to an emergency room. Many problems can be handled on the phone or in our office, avoiding the expense and anxiety of an emergency room visit. If your situation is life threatening, call 911. 

Office visits are by appointment only. Our goal is to be on schedule, and we realize the importance of this to you. At times this is impossible because of emergencies. We ask for your patience and apologize for delays. 

Co-payments and fees are due at the time of service. We will bill your insurance, however please remember that you are responsible for all charges whether you are insured or not. Flu shots may not be covered by your plan. 

Medication Refills
Please call your pharmacy for refills while you still have a week supply. If you have no automatic refill, the pharmacist will fax us for a new order. Your physician will either authorize or deny within 48-72 hours on weekdays. Please help us avoid the pressure of Friday afternoon or vacation "panic" calls for reorders. 

Lab and Diagnosis Results
You will hear from your physician about any abnormal results and appropriate follow-up within a few days. Some laboratory work takes several days to run. Diagnostic work may also require several days for a report to be generated. 

Drop-In Services
You may come in without an appointment from 8:30 to 9:00am, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays for blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and injections. From mid-October through November each year, you may come in at this same time for a flu shot, provided you are not allergic to eggs. 

Your health condition may require hospitalization, either through the emergency room or by our arranging a direct admission into Alta Bates. We have arranged hospital coverage by a group of board-certified internists in Alta Inpatient Services, or AIS. This group specializes in in-patient medical care. During your stay, there is direct contact between AIS and your primary care physician regarding your condition. Given the complexity of hospital care these days, we believe this is a more efficient plan of care. You will return to our care upon hospital discharge. 

We will not share the contents of your chart without your written consent except as we collaborate with consulting specialists on your case. For this reason, lab and other diagnostic reports are not divulged to relatives, employers or insurance companies without your signed release in the chart. 

You are welcome to use the parking lot in front of our building in the assigned stalls marked "5915 B Patient parking". The parking lot can be accessed by Hollis Street. Street parking is also available on Hollis, 59th, 61st and Peladeau Streets with time limits enforced.
